Description The study describes and analyses the relationship between nutrition security and fuelwood availability in rural households in Ntcheu District, Malawi. The general aim of the research described in this thesis is to study the relationship between fuelwood availability on the one hand, and nutrition security in rural populations on the other. Fuelwood provides a major source of energy in rural communities, especially for cooking and food processing. With fuelwood supplies diminishing in many rural areas, the negative impact of a shortage on food and nutrition security will become more and more evident.
