| Description |
The author considers that the renewable energy projects, which have not achieve their goals, did so because they often failed to disaggregate the end-users, hence consideration was given to women's various activities which relate to housekeeping and child rearing, income generation and community development. However, a lot of potential exists for the development of technologies and initiation of projects on renewable energy suitable for meeting women's needs. The author suggests that by asking the following questions: Will the technology address a need identified by the intended recipient and will the technology fit into the lifestyle of the end-users? and by focusing on women, renewable energy projects could be more successful and effective. |
