SPARKNET organisation profileEast African Energy Technology Development Network-UgandaAssociate![]() The East African Energy Technology Development Network -Uganda is a country chapter of the Regional Network called East African Energy Technology Development Network. The EAETDN Network was established in Arusha, in 1998 November by 25 organisations that had been partners of the Household Energy Regional project of the Intermediate Technology Development Group (ITDG) Eastern Africa (that project was carried out from 1994 to 1999). Just like the regional focus, EAETDN-Uganda aims at reducing poverty among communities in Uganda (as a part of East Africa) through use of appropriate energy technology. This is done through provision of technical services, information and building capacity of organisations in specific skills in particular: research, policy and project planning, implementation and monitoring, practical technological skills.

EAETDN-Uganda will contribute information to the SPARKNET documentation by focusing on experiences of the Alternative Energy Technology project where solar and wind technologies were used as sources of energy in the Bufumira Islands, forsocial service delivery.
