Description In recent years India has achieved phenomenal success in the areas of alternative technology for the New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE). Women being significant consumers and producers of energy can better improve the quality of life in their communities by choosing energy sources and usage patterns that foster sustained economic development. This initiative provides a promise to view women as ‘change agents' and not as ‘mere beneficiaries' with far reaching positive implications in the social, economic and political realms of their life.
