Article in Article in ENERGIA News, Volume 3 Issue 3 October 2000, pp. 10-12
Available online at http://www.energia.org
End use Household energy
Energy technology
Issue Women's needs; empowerment
Level Research
Description The author argues that in order to succeed in identifying energy needs, it is not sufficient to accurately describe women's roles but that the emphasis should be to look in a broader context at the social and power relationships involved in day-to-day activities. She describes domestic responsibilities and how to generate and balance power relationships. The article is a reduced version of a paper presented at the ENERGIA workshop held on 2-3 November 1999, which is posted on the ENERGIA Website www.energia.org
